The fight for biodiversity and the protection of the black bee, an endangered endemic bee in France and Europe, led by AsanGx and many volunteers on the Island of Groix, is a prime example.

Asian hornets, a threat to the Island of Groix

From summer onwards, the Asian hornet kills insects, especially pollinators, to feed its larvae. In just a few years, it has become one of the main threats to the black bees of the island. Indeed, lacking natural predators, the population of Asian hornets grows rapidly at the expense of other insects.

Pollinators are essential for the survival and reproduction of most plant species. Nearly 80% of crops that feed the world’s population are pollinated, among other things, by bees.

AsanGx Protects Biodiversity on Groix

We need your help to detect Asian hornet nests on Groix.
Once you’ve arrived on the Island of Groix, all you need to do is observe!
