Activities on the Islands of Morbihan

Belle-Île-en-Mer, the largest of the Breton islands, truly lives up to its name. All year round, this island offers a variety of activities for nature and culture enthusiasts. Take our Quiberon – Le Palais line for a 50-minute trip or, during the summer months, hop on the Quiberon – Sauzon line to reach Belle-Île in just 30 minutes.

You can stroll along the steep cliffs and admire the famous Aiguilles de Port-Coton or the Pointe des Poulains, a must-see for hikers, with its trails offering breathtaking views of the ocean. For a more relaxing experience, wander around the charming harbors of Sauzon and Le Palais, where you can explore typical architecture and local shops. Groix Island is a paradise for hikers and cyclists, easily accessible all year round in less than 45 minutes from Lorient. With over 40 km of marked trails, including the famous coastal path that circles the island, you can explore a wide range of landscapes, from steep cliffs to sandy beaches, as well as lush valleys. Rent a bike or bring your own on board to discover the island at your own pace, stopping in the quaint villages that dot the route. The island is also known for the Groix Ecomuseum, which tells the geological history of the island.

From Quiberon, reach Houat Island in just 40 minutes by ferry. This 3-kilometer-long island is a true haven of peace, perfect for a day of exploration in any season. Walk around the island in about 4.5 hours, discovering its fine sandy beaches like Treac’h Er Goured and its charming coves. Visit the Éclosarium to learn more about the oceans and local history. Enjoy a stroll through the picturesque village with its white houses and finish with a meal at one of the local restaurants or a picnic on Treac’h Er Goured beach, one of the most beautiful in Brittany.
